You should go RED if you do not see GREEN

Green, green, green. Everybody is talking about green living, green houses, even green electricity. Green is really not my favourite colour. I am not into green gutters, green roofs and green fences. Well I did sort of liked it in the 70’s. But really, it is so dated. Then again, red is not my colour either. Now give me blue, grey and black, and you can get me excited.

What are you doing to keep it green?

But I am not talking about colour. But rather about energy saving ideas, being eco-friendly and saving natural resources. Although I am not that into nature (I think I did mention it elsewhere), saving resources do turn me on. Whether it is in business (money, assets, human resources, paper, time, etc) or in everyday life at home. How much effort does it really take to switch off a light when you leave a room? Is it necessary to have a heater going if you are not in the room? Do you really need to keep the tap running when brushing your teeth? Is it really necessary to print that 57 page document that you are not even going to read? And so I can, and will, question everything. Are we not custodians of this earth? It is not our property and we have an obligation to look after it, even if it is just so that our children can have the pleasure of it.

Next time you see anybody wasting resources, go RED. Red with anger.
