Good-bye 2012 – hello 2013 (The year for change and new adventures)

We have almost come to the end of another year. Time to take stock of the past year, time for new plans (I just hate the word resolution) for 2013.

So what did Gary do in 2012? The year started off well when I over-achieved my targets by 300%! Then I had a minor health scare in February – fortunately it was not serious. Made me realise that I am not invincible after all. Changed my lifestyle and carried on as good as before. I started a new contract as Business Coach at a Financial Services Company. I started this blog – subscribers grew steadily. Has been a great opportunity to share how I experience business, and life in general, with my loyal following. Hope I did add some value to your lifes? If not, well… I did enjoy it a lot. Met a number of great people – they are successful, intellectual and positive and always looking for new opportunities. I have been privileged to spend some time with them and have certainly grown from this experience. I have investigated new business opportunities, which will come to fruition in the new year. As a believer in life long learning, I have taught myself new skills, especially related to social media and online marketing, hope to enhance it in 2013.

So what about 2013? How am I going to start the new year? I am in the fortunate position to start each new year in a different country – 2010/2011 – Rome, Italy, 2011/2012 – Bruges, Belgium and I will end 2012 and start 2013 in New York, USA. I will spend this time with my daughter, good friends and loved ones.

My plans for 2013:

I will end my Business Coach contract with a major Financial Services Company early in the new year. New plans, new ideas, new challenges. I still believe that one should change direction at least every 2-3 years. It is scary, but what a way to re-energise yourself! It forces you to start thinking of new things, new ways of earning a living. No more groove, no more habit, no more driving to the same old place. In short – NO more SAME OLD SAME OLD.

I will challenge myself to engage with people and opportunities world wide, to challenge the status quo. To learn new cultures, visit new places, see different ways of doing things, gain new experience. What a wonderful prospect!

2013 will be THE year of change, and new adventures. Hope you will join me for the ride. Hold on, it will be a rocky ride, but oh sooo exciting.

To be successful in 2013 you will need the following:

• Positive energy and creativity
• Search for new opportunities, they are everywhere, here in SA and all over the world
• Never be scared to tackle something new, learn a new skill, do things differently
• Drop all negative things, ignore boring people, visit new places
