Baby boomers – start your entrepreneurial life
According to a recent study, for the past 10 years, adults aged 55 to 64 have been the group most likely to start a new business. The study was conducted by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation which promotes entrepreneurship. And now that baby boomers are reaching retirement age, the trend is only going to grow. People are living longer and are more likely to pursue dream businesses rather than tend to their gardens when their work days are done. About 80% of boomers claim they want to work in retirement. Older entrepreneurs often tap their pension funds or home equity for working capital. They’re highly active and highly engaged, they also have networks and experience. So the message is, it is never too late to start your own business. Being an entrepreneur is one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding experiences one will ever have. What are you waiting for?
